Customer Service Representative – Job Description

The mission of Compass Insurance Group is to provide clients with a personalized
approach to insurance to protect assets and minimize risk. A Customer Service
Representative supports this mission by being in direct contact with clients to make insurance
policy changes, help resolve billing questions, and assist with basic claims questions and filing
with their carrier. This position is full-time and reports to the Customer Service Manager.

CSR Responsibilities:
-Answer all incoming calls and assist clients with their needs or direct them to the appropriate
person. This includes explaining and recommending insurance coverage and policy
– Assign new quote requests to Producer Team and track their progress.
– Assist clients with filing insurance claims.
– Assist clients with billing needs. This includes payments, refunds and payment plans as well
as taking payments to get a policy issued.
– Understand underwriting requirements and be the contact person between underwriter
and client.
Skills and Qualifications:
– Current Colorado Property and Casualty Insurance License is required (if you have
exceptional customer service skills, we are willing to discuss hiring with the contingency that
you will obtain your license before starting employment).
– High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
– Prior insurance experience is preferred.
– Ability to work well on your own from your home office.
– Ability to work well in a team.
– Strong written and verbal communication skills. This position requires being on the phone
and emailing clients, so communication needs to be clear and professional. Communication
within the Customer Service Team as well as the Producer and Renewal Teams is required.
– Ability to problem-solve and ask questions.
Compensation and Benefits:
This is a full-time position with an entry-level salary of $40,000/year. Performance reviews are
held every year and salary negotiations happen at that time. All full-time employees receive
11 paid holidays and 15 days of Paid Time Off. Health Insurance benefits through Kaiser and
401(k) benefits through Fidelity are also available.
